Silkscreens completed
On Tuesday, I spent the day finishing up the silkscreens that will be used to print the collage fabrics that surround the photos on the surface of the kimono. There are nine of them, and in layered combinations, the fabric collages (printed on silk organza) will represent each persons own unique situation – history, beliefs, and circumstances – when it comes time to decide for themselves whether and when to have a child.
Having worked with Wendy Huhn last fall in her studio, I was so much more confident in making these screens than when I first started working with the silkscreen process.
